A respected public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Customer Case Officer to join their customer services team on a short term temporary assignment. This role will suit someone who is highly customer focused, empathetic, and confident managing complex cases in a regulated environment.
Working within a high volume setting, you will provide end‑to‑end case support to customers and stakeholders, ensuring matters are progressed efficiently, sensitively and in line with legislative and procedural requirements.
Your new role
In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer cases from start to finish. You will engage regularly with customers and external stakeholders, gathering information, providing clear advice, and ensuring accurate records are maintained. The role requires strong judgement, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering a high standard of service.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a high‑volume caseload within agreed timeframes
- Providing empathetic, professional customer service to clients, beneficiaries and stakeholders
- Communicating with internal and external service providers, including financial institutions and legal representatives
- Preparing and reviewing accurate documentation and financial information
- Handling sensitive and often complex customer interactions with discretion and care
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be a confident customer service professional with experience working in environments that require sensitivity, discretion and sound decision‑making.
You will ideally bring:
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills, with the ability to manage challenging or emotional conversations
- Previous experience working in the financial sector, banking, or with vulnerable people (strongly desired)
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a high volume, case based environment
- High attention to detail and experience preparing accurate written and financial documentation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Confidence working within legislative or policy driven frameworks
What you'll get in return
