This reputable Local Council based in the Northern Sydney region is seeking a Council Ranger to play a pivotal role in their team. For the duration of a 6-month contract, you will be reporting to the Team Leader and promoting a positive image of Council in an efficient and courteous manner.
Your new role
Hays Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a local council in the northern Sydney region. They are seeking a Ranger to join their Regulatory Services Department to administer and enforce all provisions in relation to Local Government law enforcement, to promote Council’s public image and educate the community to enhance the amenity of the area, maintain public safety, and ensure compliance with Council’s statutes.
The role will also see you:
- Deliver exceptional customer service through timely and effective responses to a wide range of complaints.
- Apply strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and sound decision-making skills both in the office and in the field.
- Prepare, administer, and process briefs of evidence in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain community amenity by proactively identifying and addressing environmental and compliance issues, including illegal rubbish dumping, littering, water pollution, footpath and road obstructions, parks and reserves maintenance, building site compliance, parking and traffic control, and companion animal management.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Certificate IV in Regulatory Services (or equivalent qualification).
- A Class C Driver's Licence is required
- Proven experience in regulatory and compliance environments.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to make accurate observations, document information, take statements, and conduct interviews in a legally defensible manner.
- Demonstrated expertise in evidence collection, preparation and processing of briefs, and providing testimony when required.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
