Your new role
In this position, you’ll work with minimal supervision to support the development and refinement of financial systems. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, offering guidance on bank reconciliation processes, and managing core financial accounting tasks—particularly those tied to the backend of accounts payable and receivable operations.
Internally, you’ll report to the Team Leader of Corporate Finance and provide strategic support to senior executives. You may also be involved in internal committees and cross-functional working groups.
Externally, you’ll engage with key government departments such as the Attorney-General’s Department, Treasury and Finance, and the Audit Office, as well as other South Australian agencies. You’ll also liaise with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders, and may represent the organisation in external forums and committees.
What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
Previous experience in financial accounting within a complex or government setting
Strong grasp of compliance obligations and financial system operations
Confidence in working independently and managing competing priorities
Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders
A proactive mindset and the ability to contribute to collaborative initiatives
