Your new role

As a Field Assistant or Core Yard Technician, you’ll play a key role in supporting geological teams in the field or at core processing facilities. Duties may include:

• Assisting with drill rig setup and pack down
• Handling and processing drill core samples
• Cutting Ore
• Collecting, labelling, and transporting geological samples
• Conducting field preparation including clearing, pegging, and marking drill sites
• Operating 4WD vehicles and maintaining field equipment
• Supporting environmental and safety compliance on site
• Recording sample data accurately and maintaining field logs
• Assisting with logistics such as camp setup, supply runs, and communications
• Working closely with geologists to ensure efficient sample collection and data integrity

These roles are physically demanding and require a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work in varying weather conditions. Most positions are based in WA’s goldfields, with rosters and durations depending on project requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• A strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors in remote environments
• Manual handling capability and a safety-first mindset
• Current manual driver’s licence (essential)
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening
