An international mining house that is at the forefront of the extraction of coal is seeking a Contract Advisor responsible for supporting Contract/Vendor Owners in the practical implementation of the Contractor Management Framework for contractors engaged to perform work on site.

Your new role

• Develops Scopes of Work, follows contract management frameworks and resolves issues/variations through strong vendor relationships to drive safe and effective work practices across BHP
• Drives business improvement through the measurement of BHP's performance.
• Supports the management of vendor/customer selection, contracts, and performance to maximise operational and financial outcomes and mitigate BHP's exposure to risk.
• Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Designs and implements governance/assurance practices and Management of Change procedures to control value outcomes across BHP.
• Applies an understanding of the business context, BHP operating model and ways of working to enhance decision making, productivity and value chain performance.
• Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation.
• Knows our customer and is enthused with meeting their needs.
• Be willing to and comfortable with, visiting the underground operations at least once per week. This will always be under escort with an experienced supervisor, usually Coordinator or Superintendent level

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience in mining and contractor management, or similar
• Holds a Current QLD Coal Board Medical and Standard 11, or willing to obtain
• Candidates with parallel experience and transferal skills
• Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.
• Strong eye for detail and organisational skills
