A leading national building contractor, renowned for delivering high-quality Design & Construct (D&C) projects, is seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to join their Canberra team. Working across a strong pipeline of government and commercial projects valued between $50M and $150M, this business is known for its collaborative culture, technical excellence, and long-term career development opportunities.
Your new role
Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will play a key role in managing the commercial and contractual aspects of projects under AS4000 Lump Sum and GC21 contracts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the full subcontract lifecycle, including procurement, negotiation, letting, and administration of subcontract packages
- Ensuring all contractual obligations are met and aligned with project specifications and program requirements
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
- Preparing and coordinating detailed monthly cost reports, forecasts, and financial tracking
- Identifying and managing commercial risks, variations, and claims to protect project outcomes
- Supporting the project team to deliver on budget, on time, and to a high quality
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience as a Contracts Administrator within commercial construction
- Demonstrated ability delivering projects $50M+, ideally with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder
- Strong knowledge of AS4000 and/or GC21 contract frameworks
- Experience managing subcontract packages and driving procurement processes
- Solid financial acumen, including cost control, forecasting, and reporting
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach
