Leading global EPC contractor delivering major energy and infrastructure projects across Australia is seeking an experienced Construction Manager – Civil (Public Roads & Bridges) to lead the delivery of complex road and bridge works associated with large-scale infrastructure projects.
This role will be responsible for full-cycle construction management of public road and bridge works delivered under Australian Government and NSW Government frameworks, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and stakeholder coordination.
Your new role
As Construction Manager, you will take ownership of end-to-end delivery of public road and bridge construction works, ensuring compliance with TfNSW and Australian Road Authority standards while managing complex site, traffic, and stakeholder interfaces.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing full-cycle public road and bridge construction, including new works, upgrades, and rehabilitation
- Delivering works under Australian Government and NSW Government projects
- Overseeing construction activities such as:
- Road widening and pavement strengthening
- Bridge rehabilitation, piling, deck, and girder construction
- Drainage, earthworks, and civil structures
- Developing and approving construction methodologies and method statements, including:
- Delivery and offloading of large plant and equipment (including 500kV transformers)
- Road and bridge diversions compliant with TfNSW and Australian Road Authority standards.
- Implementing and managing traffic management plans, including:
- Traffic diversions, lane closures, and temporary roads
- Coordination with traffic controllers and relevant authorities
- Ensuring safe and continuous vehicle movement during works
- Leading site teams, subcontractors, and interfaces with engineering, survey, and commissioning teams
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience delivering road and bridge construction and upgrade projects
- Experience across:
- Pavement works and strengthening
- Bridge piling, decks, girders, and rehabilitation
- Strong understanding of construction delivery within live traffic environments
- Demonstrated capability managing civil and structural construction scopes, including:
- Earthworks and pavements
- Foundations and structural steel
- Drainage systems and associated infrastructure
- Ability to review and interpret road and bridge design drawings to ensure compliance with:
- TfNSW specifications
- Australian Road Authority and Australian Standards
- Experience understanding, reviewing, and managing survey works undertaken by project surveyors
