Hays are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join one of Perth's largest metro councils on a casual basis. This is a 6-12 month placement offering full-time hours and a competitive casual hourly rate.

Your new role

Reporting to the Coordinator Engineering Construction, you will be responsible for the delivery of the City's Engineering Capital Works Program through Planning and Project Management. Capital Works include the construction of roads, road resurfacing, road recycling, footpaths, car parks, stormwater drainage, and traffic management systems. Your primary responsibilities will be:

• Delivery of CWP including management of schedule, cost. Productivity, quality, safety, risk management
• Project construction costs estimations that are aligned with the design and scope of work
• Maintain schedule of rates for in-house and contractor works
• Ensure a safe working environments in accordance with the City's OSH including toolbox talks, SWMS, JSAs, site inductions, safety training
• Facilitate and manage procurement processes including public tenders and WALGA e-Quotes
• Purchase Orders
• Contract management and contractor management

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
• MRWA accreditation of Basic Traffic Management
• C Class Driver's Licence
• Current National Police Clearance
• Demonstrated experience in project and contract management relevant to civil construction
