An established organisation with a strong governance focus is seeking a Compliance Specialist to play a key role in driving ethical, legal and risk‑aware business practices across the organisation. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders and contribute directly to organisational resilience, transparency and compliance maturity.
Your new role
Reporting into a senior leader, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering the organisation’s compliance framework. You will manage key regulatory programs, support enterprise risk management and ensure policies and practices align with legislative and governance obligations. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the Modern Slavery compliance program, including supplier engagement and preparation of the annual Modern Slavery Statement
- Reviewing and maintaining Privacy and Whistleblower policies and associated obligations
- Oversight of supplier documentation governance and record‑keeping practices
- Maintaining and supporting the Business Risk Register, including coordination of risk reviews and preparation of quarterly Board reports
- Oversight of the Business Continuity Plan to ensure regular review and testing
- Supporting climate‑related reporting in line with legislative requirements, in consultation with key partners
- Providing compliance advice to management on laws, regulations, internal standards and accepted business practices
- Educating stakeholders on legislative and regulatory changes impacting the organisation
- Managing actions arising from internal and external audits and regulatory changes
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business management or a related discipline
- Demonstrated understanding of corporate legal and compliance requirements
- Previous experience in a compliance, governance or risk‑related role (highly regarded)
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- High levels of integrity, discretion and professionalism
- A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset and a collaborative approach
