Hays recruitment is currently partnering with a local government organisation in Darwin, Northern Territory to find a qualified and experienced communication and engagement officer to join their marketing team. Your new role

This role is maternity leave cover, and you will be required to assist and support the Marketing and Communications team.

• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaboration and to develop and implement communications, marketing and engagement strategies that deliver on City of Darwin’s strategic goals.
• Provide copywriting and editing services for internal and external communications materials, including publications, newsletters, brochures, media releases and editorial, website and social media content.
• Coordinate booking of advertising across a variety of channels, including traditional and digital media.
• Ensure programs meet and adhere to the City of Darwin brand, communication and procurement policies and guidelines, and best practice is maintained in all communications, marketing and engagement activities.
• Engage and manage the outputs of consultants and creative service providers, including graphic designers, web developers, editors, photographers, videographers and printers, to ensure the delivery of projects on time and within budget.
• Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of City of Darwin’s communications, marketing and engagement activities.
• Comply with City of Darwin’s electronic document management system data entry standards.

What you'll need to succeed

• 4 years’ relevant experience in marketing, communications or equivalent qualification
• Diploma in marketing, Communications or equivalent
• Current Working with Children clearance (Ochre card)
• Holds a current National Police check (within the last 6 months).

• A positive attitude
• Great organisational skills with great time management; attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
