Your new role
As a Commissioning Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to meet project specifications and industry standards. You’ll work across a variety of projects, collaborating with contractors, consultants, and clients to deliver successful outcomes. Depending on your experience, you may lead commissioning activities, manage subcontractors, and contribute to project planning and delivery.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and execute commissioning activities for mechanical or electrical systems
- Conduct functional testing, troubleshooting, and performance verification
- Review technical documentation and commissioning plans
- Liaise with project teams, contractors, and clients
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Produce detailed commissioning reports and documentation
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree or trade qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
- Experience in commissioning building services, data centres, or industrial systems
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Ability to work independently or lead a team, depending on experience level
Highly regarded:
- Experience with HVAC, BMS, power distribution, or critical infrastructure
- Exposure to Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor environments
- Commissioning management experience (for senior candidates)
