Commercial Finance Manager

A progressive organisation based in Mount Isa requires a Commercial Finance Manager to join their senior team.

Your new company

This progressive organisation operates in a highly regulated environment, and they provide vital services to the Mount Isa community. They currently require a Commercial Finance Manager to drive continual improvement in the quality and value of service delivered. This is a newly created role that encompasses a combination of finance and commercial management processes to minimise risk and maximise operational performance of contracts.

Your new role

Reporting to the General Manager (Corporate & Governance), your role will play a key part in implementing new commercial solutions and providing strategic budget advice and insights to stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include the following (but not limited to):
  • Managing key stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment between commercial performance and the operational plan
  • Leadership of the organisation’s finance team
  • Proactive investment in organisational assets to ensure the best level of service
  • Annual budgeting & forecasting with monthly review and commentary
  • Preparation of a 5-year projection model & unit pricing
  • Effective cost management and recovery
  • Resolving any issues with contracts and commercial operations
As a critical leadership role within the organisation, you will be required to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including executive and management teams, board members, auditors, governing body and legal advisors.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this position, you will have tertiary accounting/ commerce qualifications and ideally be a current member of CA/ CPA.

You will have significant experience in management accounting and stakeholder management, with the ability to make strategic decisions. Your ability to demonstrate strong leadership and management skills will be key to your success in this application.

Demonstrated experience in infrastructure or utilities will be highly regarded, as well as the development of complex pricing models.

As the key interface to this organisation’s stakeholders, you will need to demonstrate sound communication and negotiation skills.

Remuneration will be commensurate based on experience and qualifications; candidates with salary expectations exceeding $180,000 are encouraged to apply. Relocation package up to $10,000 is also on offer.
