With a strong commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer responsiveness, Bennetts is seeking a Commercial Credit Manager to join its Corporate Services team and play a pivotal role in managing financial risk and enhancing customer relationships.
Your new role
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Commercial Credit Manager will lead the end-to-end account’s receivable function, ensuring robust credit risk management and outstanding commercial customer service. This role is instrumental in supporting strategic decision-making and maintaining financial integrity across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing and managing credit risk across the commercial customer base.
- Evaluating creditworthiness and overseeing customer onboarding in collaboration with the sales team.
- Monitoring collections and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Managing insolvency matters and overseeing bad and doubtful debts.
- Providing regular reporting and analysis of aged trial balances.
- Coordinating daily receipting, bank allocations, and direct debits.
- Reconciling aged trial balances with the general ledger.
- Administering asset registers and customer equipment agreements.
- Registering interests on the PPSR and supporting tax depreciation processes.
- Attending executive meetings and contributing to strategic planning.
- Supporting the CFO with general business operations and leadership.
What you'll need to succeed
- Extensive experience in credit management, ideally within FMCG or logistics.
- Strong negotiation and customer service skills.
- Proven experience in debt recovery, compliance, and securities.
- High proficiency in Excel and financial systems.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated leadership and staff management experience.
- A diploma or Certificate IV in Credit Management (AICM) highly regarded.
- Experience with Equifax online is advantageous.
