Your new role

As the Cloud Platform Administrator, you will be working in a fast-paced section who are responsible for leading data and analytics products and services for the department. This section also delivers business intelligence and advanced analytic products that transform raw data into usable intelligence that improves risk identification, management and decision-making capabilities. You will have experience in both administration and development of Azure Cloud Infrastructure. Your role centres around the building and maintenance of an Azure analytics platform with a particular focus on automation, where you will join a team of experienced analytics platform administrators, engineers and developers. As the successful candidate you will play a key role in the modernisation of an on-premises platform to Azure.

The scope of this role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Build and automate processes using DevOps pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), PowerShell and Azure Function Apps.
  • Maintain and enhance cloud analytics platform functionality to support ETL developers and data engineers in their roles while working with cutting edge technology.
  • Migrate and modernise processes from an on-premises platform to a cloud-native platform.
  • Working as part of a team to problem-solve and build/improve processes and automation.
  • Ensure timely, effective, and transparent communication with the team, Director, broader analytics centre team members and other stakeholders as required.

What you'll need to succeed

As the successful candidate, you will have demonstrated experience and ability in:

  • Strong skills/experience working in an Azure cloud environment including infrastructure-as-code, such as Terraform
  • Strong skills/experience in using Azure DevOps, particularly as a tool for management of code repos and deployment pipelines
  • Strong skills in PowerShell and SQL Server experience
  • Competent with cloud storage configuration and maintenance

*successful candidate will hold/have ability to obtain a baseline clearance, MUST be an Australian Citizen*
