Your new role

• Be responsible for managing the project management lifecycle, as part of the Small Projects Management Framework, including well-written, well-structured documentation
• Be responsible for a wide range of capital projects (
• Dams, levees – Upgrades or provide new
• New mine access roads
• Upgrades to internal and external mine roads
• Drainage upgrades
• New or upgrades to existing water infrastructure to help improve water management on site
• Procurement of new equipment for mine site operations i.e., pumps, pipelines, etc.
• Small improvement projects throughout the mine site
• Assisting Project Managers on larger projects throughout the mine site
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Engage with project stakeholders to ensure alignment to business objectives
• Negotiate contract terms and conditions, to support project schedule and budget
• Ensure ownership of projects, including stakeholder engagement, monthly KPIs and various internal reporting
• Actively participate in the Field Leadership program

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience in the entire project life cycle
• Experience in mining (QLD Coal Mining preferable, but not a requirement)
• Experience in delivering various civil and water management projects (front-end-loading, design/standard clarification, site execution, and commissioning)
• Experience with site execution and planning of projects, including working with contractors / tradespersons
• Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree
• A great attitude to learning company processes and think outside the box
• A high commitment to safety, quality, attention to detail and procedures
• Ability to influence, engage with & communicate effectively across multiple levels, business units, functional areas, and external stakeholders
• Project Management experience, including project procurement
• Ability to problem solve effectively, work under pressure, and think strategically.
  1. For example, supporting various stakeholders with competing priorities, managing those relationships, expectations, and formulate appropriate action plans.
• Demonstrate effective writing skills in email, documentation, and presentation development, taking into consideration the target audience
• Demonstrate effective skills in project management documentation, including action taking, delay registers, variation registers, inspection and test plans, punch list registers, and close out documentation
• Demonstrate effective skills in Microsoft Suite, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook
