A government utilities' organisation has an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Directorate and is operating within a highly complex environment, with multiple concurrent initiatives impacting assets, systems, workforce capability and ways of working. These initiatives often intersect across the same operational areas, creating cumulative change impacts that require careful sequencing, prioritisation and leadership.


The organisation is seeking an experienced Change Lead to support the O&M Directorate by providing integrated, leader‑led change support. This role will operate as both a strategic integrator and a hands‑on change partner, helping leaders navigate complexity while maintaining reliability and performance.



Your new role

The Change Lead will provide a connective layer across initiatives rather than replacing existing initiative‑level change resources. The focus is on enabling coherence across change, supporting leaders to understand the full change landscape, and providing targeted support where it delivers the most value.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining a high‑level view of initiatives impacting the O&M Directorate
  • Identifying overlaps, dependencies and cumulative change impacts
  • Supporting senior leaders with sense‑making, sequencing and prioritisation decisions
  • Providing hands‑on change support to priority initiatives where risk or impact is highest
  • Designing pragmatic change approaches suited to operational and field‑based environments
  • Facilitating leader and workforce engagement to support understanding and adoption
  • Building strong, trusted relationships across executives, delivery teams and frontline groups

What you'll need to succeed

You are an experienced change practitioner who is comfortable operating across multiple initiatives in complex, operational environments. You bring the ability to balance strategic oversight with practical, hands‑on delivery and can work credibly with senior leaders to support informed decision‑making.


You will demonstrate:
  • Experience working across multi‑initiative or change portfolio environments
  • Strong capability engaging with senior leaders and supporting sense‑making
  • Applied change management experience (e.g. Prosci, ADKAR or blended approaches)
  • Experience in operational, asset‑intensive or safety‑critical environments
  • A pragmatic, collaborative approach to change delivery
Experience within utilities or the public sector will be highly regarded.
