Category Manager / Category Specialist – 6‑Month Contract Perth CBD | Immediate Start
A large, diversified Australian organisation is seeking an experienced Category Manager or Category Specialist to join its Perth-based procurement team on an initial 6‑month contract. This role is based in corporate offices located in the city and is ideally suited to someone who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced, stakeholder-rich environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing end-to-end category and contract activities across a diverse portfolio, delivering clear commercial outcomes and value. The role involves close engagement with senior stakeholders and suppliers, managing complex negotiations, and supporting major operational and capital requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver category strategies and sourcing activities across multiple spend areas
  • Lead contract development, negotiation, and execution for contracts valued between $5M and $20M
  • Provide commercial and contractual advice to internal stakeholders
  • Manage supplier performance and ongoing contract governance
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, frameworks, and systems
  • Work effectively across ERP and procurement management systems
About You
  • Degree qualified in Legal, Commercial, Business, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in category management, contracts, and complex negotiations
  • Proven experience delivering and managing $5–20M contracts
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the confidence to operate autonomously
  • Category experience in one or more of the following:
    • Equipment services
    • Recruitment services
    • Engineering contracts
    • MRO and NDT projects
  • Comfortable working within ERP environments and modern procurement systems
