Your new role

As a Business Development Representative, you will drive market share growth by identifying high-intent opportunities, engaging SMB decision-makers through modern outreach channels, and delivering tailored solutions that solve real business challenges.

  • Follow up on pre-qualified leads provided by the business, including a mix of warm and cold prospects.
  • Build rapport with SMB decision-makers and understand their needs to position solutions effectively.
  • Conduct outbound calls and virtual meetings to progress opportunities through the sales cycle.
  • Close deals by presenting tailored solutions and handling objections confidently.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions and outcomes in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Collaborate with marketing and account managers to ensure smooth handover and customer onboarding.
  • Stay informed on product offerings, competitor activity, and industry trends to support consultative selling.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets and KPIs.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in acquisition-based B2B sales roles with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • 2-4 years of experience in business development sales (telecommunications or tech preferred but not essential).
  • Strong communication skills, resilience, and passion for engaging SMB decision-makers.
  • Understanding of SMB buying behaviours in Australia, including budget cycles and procurement processes.
  • Ability to interpret intent signals and behavioural data to personalise outreach.
  • Familiarity with virtual selling environments (video calls, asynchronous communication).
  • Experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working with KPIs and targets.
