An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Avionics Technician to join a highly specialised defence and aerospace maintenance organisation based at Brisbane Airport.
This is not a traditional aircraft line maintenance role. In this role, you will work within a dedicated workshop environment, performing component-level repair, diagnosis and overhaul of sophisticated avionics and electronic equipment.
If you enjoy technical fault-finding, working at PCB level and solving complex electronic problems rather than simply replacing units, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now and take the next step in your career.
Key responsibilities
- Repair, overhaul and fault diagnosis of aircraft electronic and electromechanical components within a highly regulated maintenance environment.
- Component-level PCB fault-finding and repair
- BGA component removal, replacement and rework
- Electronic testing and diagnosis using specialist bench equipment
- X-ray inspection and verification of repaired assemblies
- Interpretation of wiring diagrams, schematics and technical manuals
- Completion of technical service reports and maintenance documentation
- Supporting quality, regulatory and safety compliance requirements
- Working collaboratively within a specialised workshop environment supporting defence aviation programmes
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in avionics, aerospace electronics repair, defence maintenance, or a similar technical environment.

- Experience with BGA rework, component replacement, and electronic repair techniques will be highly regarded.
- Ability to interpret electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Experience working with electronic test and diagnostic equipment.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Experience working in regulated, quality-driven environments.
- Familiarity with defence, aerospace, aviation, or advanced manufacturing industries.

- Australian Citizenship
What you'll get in return
This is more than just a job – it's an opportunity to be part of something bigger. You'll join a highly skilled team where technical problem-solving, continuous learning and precision workmanship are valued every day.
Supporting critical defence and aerospace programmes, you'll work on highly specialised avionics equipment while enjoying a genuine work-life balance through a Monday-to-Friday schedule and flexible working hours. If you thrive on solving complex technical problems, enjoy working with advanced electronics, and want to make an impact, we'd love to hear from you.
