For ambitious lawyers ready to accelerate their career on nationally significant work

Location: Darwin CBD (3 days in office, 2 days WFH)
Salary: $110,000-150,000 Negotiable depending on experience

Why this role stands out
  • If you're a 3 – 5 PAE lawyer who wants big matters, real responsibility, and a clear pathway upward, this is an exciting opportunity that has just come to market.
  • Work on major, high‑visibility Commonwealth infrastructure projects
  • Join a Construction & Property team that’s expanding fast and winning headline matters.
  • Be part of a firm that promotes on merit, not time served.
  • Enjoy a genuinely flexible 3:2 hybrid model and generous leave options

The Company
  • This national firm has built a reputation for being agile, modern and refreshingly unpretentious.
  • With a large partnership and strong national footprint, the firm advises Commonwealth agencies and leading private clients on some of Australia’s most significant projects.
  • You’ll join a team that’s collaborative, energetic and known for giving their lawyers meaningful opportunities—not just support tasks.

The Opportunity
  • You’ll join a highly regarded Commonwealth Government practice spanning Canberra and Darwin, working closely with senior experts on:
  • Major property and construction transactions
  • Government procurement and commercial contracting
  • Nationally significant infrastructure projects
  • Multi‑jurisdictional litigation, arbitration and dispute work
  • This is a career‑making role that gives you direct access to decision‑makers and exposure to matters that genuinely shape communities.

What you’ll do
  • Draft and advise on construction & property contracts
  • Run litigation and arbitration matters end‑to‑end
  • Support major infrastructure projects—airport redevelopments, road and civil works, government precincts and more
  • Collaborate with national colleagues and build strong client relationships

You’ll thrive here if you bring:
  • 3–5+ years PAE within construction, property or commercial projects
  • Strong drafting capability and commercial instincts
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Curiosity, initiative and a desire to work on complex, meaningful matters
  • (For more experienced candidates) An interest in leadership and mentoring juniors
