An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate to join a leading international law firm’s Intellectual Property team in Sydney.
This role offers the chance to work closely with highly regarded partners on a broad range of contentious and advisory IP matters, with a strong emphasis on patent litigation. You will also collaborate across practices and offices, supporting complex, high-profile matters for both Australian and international clients.
The team advises on the full spectrum of IP issues, including patents, trademarks, copyright, confidential information, licencing and commercialisation, across a diverse portfolio of well-known global and domestic clients.
Your new role
- Advising on patent litigation and other contentious IP matters
- Supporting complex infringement and validity disputes
- Providing strategic advice on IP protection, enforcement and commercialisation
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents across a range of IP matters
- Conducting legal research on complex technical and legal issues
- Working closely with senior stakeholders and contributing to client relationship management
What you'll need to succeed
- 3–4 years PQE in Intellectual Property from a reputable law firm
- Strong experience in IP litigation and advisory work
- Excellent academic background
- Demonstrated ability to work on complex and technical matters
- A science or technical background will be highly regarded.
- Commercially minded with strong attention to detail
- Confident in managing aspects of matters and working both independently and collaboratively
