A respected not-for-profit real estate and housing provider is seeking an Assistant Property Manager to support its growing Victorian portfolio. This organisation manages a mix of affordable and fee-for-service rental properties and is recognised for providing stable, secure and community-focused housing options. This position is ideal for someone with experience in leasing, tenancy management or an existing Assistant Property Manager who is ready to progress into a Property Manager role.
About the Role
Working closely with a Senior Property Manager and Team Leader, you will support the day-to-day management of a diverse property portfolio while gaining exposure to all areas of end-to-end property management.
• Responding to renter and landlord enquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Processing rental applications, completing eligibility checks and coordinating lease sign-ups
• Conducting ingoing condition reports, routine inspections and end of tenancy inspections
• Managing maintenance requests and incident reporting
• Supporting rent reviews, arrears recovery, bond processing and compliance
• Preparing documentation for VCAT and attending hearings with support
• Maintaining strong relationships with tenants, landlords and key stakeholders
• Working within a mixed housing environment where some properties share boundaries with social housing
• Supporting positive tenant outcomes within a community focused setting
About You
You bring genuine care to your work and have the ability to adapt to varied tenant needs. You communicate confidently, remain calm under pressure and demonstrate sound judgment.
You will bring:
• Certificate IV in Property Services or an Agent’s Representative Certificate
• A current Victorian driving licence and reliable vehicle
• Experience in leasing, property management or tenancy management
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving capability with genuine empathy
• Confidence using tenancy systems – Property Tree experience is beneficial
• Availability to work Saturdays for open homes or site visits where applicable
Working Arrangements
• Flexible hybrid model with three office-based days in Week 1 and two office-based days in Week 2.
• Minimal travel requirements with only three sites to attend, and in some cases fewer.
