A leading facilities services provider is seeking an experienced Asset Manager to oversee strategic asset performance across a large, high‑profile education precinct in Canberra. Your new role
As the Asset Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, performance, and lifecycle management of a diverse and complex asset base. You will oversee the development and delivery of asset management plans, ensure accuracy of the asset register, and lead lifecycle replacement strategies that drive long‑term value and service excellence.
Working closely with operational and commercial stakeholders, you will analyse asset condition data, optimise preventative maintenance programs, and influence decisions around critical infrastructure and compliance frameworks. Your ability to collaborate, influence, and provide data‑driven recommendations will be key to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic asset management and lifecycle planning across a multi‑site portfolio.
- Maintain and validate the asset register and asset management documentation.
- Analyse condition data and performance reports to inform maintenance and capital planning.
- Develop annual and multi‑year asset and lifecycle works programs.
- Manage subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contractual standards.
- Provide technical insights to support system resilience and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and lifecycle cost modelling.
- Uphold a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to Zero Harm principles.
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrated experience in asset management within facilities, infrastructure, or building services.
- Strong capability in asset registers, condition auditing, lifecycle planning, and asset management frameworks.
- Working knowledge of ISO 55000 principles and their application in operational environments.
- Experience in building compliance, regulations, and Australian Standards.
- Proficiency in analysing technical data, performance metrics, and financial reports.
- Familiarity with BMS/SCADA systems and performance‑based maintenance methodologies.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail, strong organisational capability, and a proactive approach.
