Your new role
As an APS6 Senior Rehabilitation Advisor, you will lead rehabilitation case management efforts to support staff in returning to work after injury or illness. Working closely with business areas, you will provide strategic advice, assess existing cases, and proactively mitigate workplace risks to reduce liabilities. You’ll also play a key role in drafting determinations and ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage rehabilitation case files, including compensation claims, early intervention programs, and return-to-work processes.
Draft and refine Section 71 determinations, ensuring accurate assessment and documentation.
Partner with business areas to identify workplace risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Provide expert advice and support to managers on rehabilitation, health, and safety matters.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive positive case management outcomes.
Maintain accurate records and generate reports using Microsoft Office and HR systems.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience in rehabilitation case management, injury management, or health & safety case management within a Federal Government setting.
Expertise in engaging with Comcare and understanding of relevant rehabilitation and compensation legislation.
Strong stakeholder engagement, collaboration and dispute resolution skills.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to managing complex cases.
Proven experience in reducing liability risks and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.
