APS6 Senior Communications Officer

A unique 12-month labour hire position within a federal government department.

Your new company

Join a supportive and collaborative team with a Federal Government Department located in Canberra. Your team have a focus on engaging with Indigenous communities and producing creative and positive media stories.

Your new role

You will have a background in both communications as a profession and in engaging genuinely with Indigenous communities. As the successful candidate, you will have an opportunity to create and deliver communications activities and online media content.
You will utilise your strategic thinking, high level of organisation and strong writing skills to create a variety of multimedia campaigns and events.

What you'll need to succeed

  • The successful candidate will have skills in one or more of the following areas:
  • Deep understanding of First Nations cultures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated high level writing skills
  • Experience in working for the Federal Government (Desired) or Federal government working rights

What you'll get in return

This is a 12-month hourly rate or non-ongoing contract at an APS6 level.
Contracting rates can be offered between $55 and $65 + super per hour.
