APS6 Program Officer

Your new role
As a Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and overseeing various projects across the organisation. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, providing strategic guidance and ensuring that program goals are met. Your leadership skills and ability to manage diverse teams will be essential in driving successful outcomes.
Responsibilities:
  • Formulate, organise, and monitor interconnected projects.
  • Decide on suitable strategies and objectives for each program.
  • Coordinate cross-project activities to ensure seamless execution.
  • Lead and evaluate project managers and other staff.
  • Develop and control deadlines, budgets, and activities.
  • Apply change, risk, and resource management principles.
  • Assume responsibility for managing program personnel and vendors.
  • Assess program performance and aim to maximise ROI.
  • Resolve any higher scope issues within the programs.
  • Prepare reports for program directors.

What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:
  • Proven experience as a Program Manager or in other managerial positions.
  • Thorough understanding of project and program management techniques and methods.
  • Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles.
  • Outstanding leadership and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
This role is only open to Australian citizens, and you must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Government Security Clearance (Baseline, NV1 or NV2)
