Your new role
As the Secretariat and Administrative Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting both administrative and project delivery functions. You’ll provide high-level secretariat, coordination, and executive support across a range of departmental priorities, with a strong focus on project planning, governance, and implementation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering secretariat support for steering committees, working groups, and governance forums, including agenda preparation, minute taking, action tracking, and meeting coordination.
- Assisting in the development of project documentation such as briefing papers, presentations, and communications.
- Coordinating administrative activities related to procurement, contract management, stakeholder engagement, and reporting.
- Drafting and reviewing executive-level correspondence and internal communications.
- Maintaining accurate records in accordance with government information and records management policies.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to support project outcomes.
- Supporting general office operations and contributing to a positive team culture.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in an administrative or secretariat role within the public sector is highly desirable.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality documentation including minutes, reports, and formal correspondence.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Sound understanding of project delivery and governance frameworks.
This role is only open to Australian citizens, and you must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Government Society Clearance (NV1, NV2 or TSPV)
