APS3 Service Support Officer

12-Month Assignment | CBD Location | $39-$45 + Super

Your new role

We’re looking for proactive APS3 Service Support Officers to join a federal government team delivering essential mental health and wellbeing services. In this frontline role, you’ll provide both customer service and administrative support, helping ensure smooth and efficient service delivery. You’ll be the first point of contact for individuals seeking care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to create a welcoming and responsive environment.

37.5 Hours per week | Monday to Friday
Must be an Australian Citizen
Must hold a Baseline clearance


Your responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality customer service as the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and stakeholders via phone, email, SMS, and in person.
  • Provide administrative support for operational tasks as directed by management.
  • Respond to client enquiries, offer information and options in line with policies and procedures, and refer to appropriate service teams.
  • Manage appointment activities using internal systems for clients attending in-person services.
  • Assist in coordinating events, including group programs, internal meetings, and community-based initiatives.
  • Support service delivery through data entry, record keeping, and workflow management.
  • Handle internal and external correspondence related to client allocations, referrals, appointments, and feedback.
  • Provide administrative support to external referral platforms and third-party service providers.
  • Assist with daily operational tasks including correspondence, deliveries, travel arrangements, invoice processing, resource requests, and property maintenance.
  • Support reporting and quality assurance activities under the guidance of management.
  • Adhere to workplace practices aligned with Occupational Health and Safety, Diversity and Inclusion, and relevant public sector values and codes of conduct.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the organisation’s overall mission and objectives.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrated experience in business operations and service delivery support within a health or government-related environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, assessed against relevant public sector standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in using client management systems and standard office software.
  • Ability to engage professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders

Mandatory requirements

  • Must be an Australian Citizen
  • Hold a Baseline Clearance
  • Ability to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People registration or Working with Children Check (depending on jurisdiction).
