About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced
Community and Peer Worker to provide personalised peer support to current and former ADF members and their families. This role is grounded in lived experience and recovery-focused care, delivered within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver peer support services aligned with a recovery-oriented model of care.
- Collaborate with clients to develop individualised Action Plans.
- Use lived experience to build rapport and promote mental wellbeing.
- Co-facilitate group programs and participate in case reviews.
- Build networks with veteran-specific organisations and services.
- Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and peer supervision.
What You’ll Bring
- Lived experience of military service or military family life, and a mental health journey.
- Strong communication and trauma-informed support skills.
- Emotional intelligence, integrity, and respect for privacy.
- Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience in peer support, mentoring, or mental health services.
Mandatory Requirements
- Working with Children and/or Vulnerable People Clearance.
- Australian citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a baseline security clearance.
- Successful completion of a pre-engagement screening check.
