Your new role
AO7 Principal Communications and Engagement Officer working across the delivery of a large conference event for the department
Key responsibilities:
- Managing the life cycle of high-profile events from concept design to planning, delivery and evaluation.
- Proving high-level and quality advice and recommendations to senior management, stakeholders and clients in relation to best practice and strategies for management of events and engagement activities.
- Defining the purpose, objectives, key messages, KPIs and desired outcomes of events and engagement activities and developing event concepts accordingly.
- Prepare, monitor and manage correspondence, guidelines and project plans to support the event delivery.
- Project managing a range of activities and events using project management methodology.
- Developing event related marketing and communication activity, including event branding and effective and integrated marketing and communication plans, and writing promotional content to increase awareness of events, engagement and event participation.
- Managing the financial aspects of events, including budget preparation and management, procurement and processes, to ensure events and engagement activities are delivered within budget and in accordance with financial guidelines.
- Contributing to the development of strategic program design and management of speakers.
- Securing and managing partnerships and sponsorships.
- Consulting and collaborating with key stakeholders within the department, other government departments and externally to optimise outcomes for activities and events through the provision of expert operational and strategic advice and event delivery.
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrated previous experience in delivering major events at a high level, ideally with in government organisations
- Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with clients and stakeholders internally, across government and externally
- Experience using various software applications to develop, implement and review email marketing campaigns (broadcast emails, invitations, surveys)
