AO5 Senior Communication & Media Officer to join their vibrant team on a temporary 6-month contract, with the potential for extension.
As the Senior Communication and Media Officer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing and safeguarding the brand, reputation, and services of the department. You will collaborate across the organisation to plan and execute targeted internal and external communication and engagement activities. Your responsibilities will include researching, writing, editing, and evaluating educational and customer-focused content across various channels and audiences, including media, digital, corporate, customers, and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to: - Plan, deliver, and evaluate media and communication plans to achieve strategic outcomes.
- Develop and schedule an innovative content pipeline, creating engaging and data-driven content.
- Research, write, and edit corporate content to ensure compliance with department standards.
- Translate complex legislative information into clear and accessible content.
- Monitor and share insights from communication activities to improve educational content and campaigns.
- Support inbound enquiries from media, stakeholders, and internal teams, providing timely recommendations.
- Monitor and report on media coverage involving the department or rental sector, assessing risks and escalating issues.
- Streamline team processes and maintain team documentation.
- Collaborate within a team environment to meet deadlines and achieve team deliverables.
The idea candidate:- Experience: Previous experience in a government or media role is essential.
- Communication Skills: Proven ability to translate complex information into plain English.
- Media Expertise: Demonstrated experience in preparing proactive and reactive media statements, as well as developing comprehensive communication plans.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to join a team roster for monitoring the media inbox, handling enquiries, and reporting on media coverage.
- Flexibility and Teamwork: Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a high-performing team.
