Your new role

The role of Finance and Administration Officer is to support the development and management of efficient financial and administrative systems within the Centre, whilst still contributing to staff supervision and development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote cultural inclusivity aligned with the Human Rights Act 2019, supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander connections.
  • Manage financial processes, including account payments, reconciliations, banking, and budget analysis.
  • Oversee trust and petty cash accounts, ensuring accurate reimbursement and reconciliation.
  • Coordinate procurement of goods/services (excluding stores and medical supplies) and prepare purchase orders under direction.
  • Maintain the asset register and organise equipment stocktakes.
  • Arrange travel logistics for staff, visitors, and young people.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and maintain the accountable documents register.
  • Collaborate effectively within the team to deliver client services.
  • Supervise and train administrative/support staff in centre systems.
What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following:

  • Hold a current Working with Children Blue Card or be willing to obtain one.
  • The ability to obtain a National Police Check.
  • Holding previous experience in financial operations within a government department is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, support, and supervise a team effectively.
  • Be a co-operative and positive team player who contributes to a supportive work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and professional approach.
  • Sound knowledge of financial administration, including relevant systems and processes.

You will undertake a Monday – Friday temporary position with an immediate start. The general spread of working hours are 8am-4.30pm, and you will receive an attractive AO4 rate of pay + Super.
