AO3 Business Support Officer

Monday to Friday – 36.25 hours per week / Contracted Position Available / $51.12 per hour plus superannuation

Hays Recruitment is pleased to support the recruitment of a highly motivated Business Support Officer to work within the Queensland Government in Rockhampton.

Your new role

• Office Reception coverage, includes but not limited to managing incoming and outgoing mail and packages, phone calls
• Fleet administration
• Vehicle bookings using UMS
• Checking logbooks and fuel invoices for discrepancies
• Entering odometer readings
• Tracking vehicle applications
• Recording of paper files using Content Manager database
• Perform spare computer updates
• Perform ad-hoc administrative duties
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures (AO3) Position Description duties:
• Provide efficient and high standards of customer service to QBuild customers.
• Undertaking travel bookings including flights, accommodation, charters, ferries and car hire within required time frames.
• Effectively monitor and manage internal and external correspondence, incoming and outgoing telephone calls and ensure responses are provided within required time frames.
• Willingness to work within a fast-paced environment with KPI’s and mechanisms to measure and monitor performance.
• Ability to connect with industry, local suppliers and internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and effective delivery of services.
• Demonstrate professionalism and be a positive contributor to a great team and culture while being prepared to perform recurring work.
• Be dedicated to customer satisfaction, and within boundaries, develop an outcome which achieves both customer and business objectives.
• Ensure high standards and accuracy when compiling documents and reports or updating records and information systems (i.e., in Ellipse and Microsoft Office).
• Demonstrate initiative and be a team player by appropriately handling enquiries to senior staff in their absence within expected timeframes.
• Develop and maintain procedures, manuals and registers while being a contributor to improving existing procedures.
• Effectively undertake general administration functions as required.


What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have the following:
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Sound typing skills with good accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to interact with executive-level staff, including Directors
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Capability to handle repetitive tasks
  • Previous government experience is essential

What you'll get in return

In return, you will be offered a casual contract working full-time hours Monday to Friday. This role is based in Rockhampton, offering $51.12 per hour plus superannuation, with weekly pay! This position has the potential to become ongoing or permanent for the right candidate.
