Hays is proud to exclusively partner with Law Institute of Victoria in the recruitment of two AML Compliance and Risk Advisers, newly created roles supporting the implementation of Tranche 2 AML/CTF legislation and empowering legal practitioners to meet their obligations confidently.


Your new company

The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) is the peak body for the legal profession in Victoria, representing over 21,000 members. Your new role

These strategic advisory roles sit within the Professional Standards and Quality Assurance (PSQA) team and focus on practitioner support, risk assessment, and stakeholder education. You will:
  • Act as a subject-matter expert assisting LIV members and the wider legal profession to understand the 2024 amendments to AML/CTF legislation and the introduction of Tranche 2 designated services.
  • Guide the development and delivery of educational programs, particularly for sole and small legal practitioners, to help them build AML/CTF programs including risk assessments and policy development.
  • Respond to complex practitioner queries escalated from the LIV AML/CTF Helpline and oversee outbound engagement activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external regulators to develop resources and guidance aligned with new AML/CTF Rules and ASIC guidance.
  • Monitor practitioner engagement and contribute to the AML Working Group’s initiatives.
  • Deliver webinars, workshops, and outbound campaigns to support practitioner compliance and awareness.


What you'll need to succeed

You’ll be a confident and empathetic adviser with:
  • Qualifications in Law, Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • AML/CTF compliance and risk management credentials (e.g., ACAMS, CPA, ICA).
  • Experience in legal practice, regulatory environments, or AML/CTF regimes.
  • Experience in the development and management of risk management programs.
  • A strong understanding of the regulatory and compliance frameworks in which Victorian lawyers operate.
  • Strong presentation, training, and risk assessment skills.
  • High emotional intelligence, resilience, and discretion.
