Agile Coach

One of our Government clients is looking for an Agile Lead for a 6-month contract.

Your new role

An experienced Agile Lead is sought to mentor, build, and support cross-functional teams in delivering high-value business outcomes. This role is responsible for driving agile delivery, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring continuous improvement across teams while balancing time, cost, and scope considerations.
Working in a complex, transformation-focused environment, the Agile Lead will apply agile methodologies and human-centred design principles to deliver solutions that meet user needs and maximise business value.

Key Responsibilities

Agile Delivery & Execution
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver iterative, value-driven solutions aligned to business priorities
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Manage delivery across multiple initiatives, ensuring alignment to scope, timelines, and quality expectations
  • Determine fit-for-purpose delivery approaches using appropriate agile frameworks
Coaching & Capability Development
  • Coach and mentor teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders in agile principles and practices.
  • Build agile capability and maturity across teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement
  • Foster high-performing, empowered teams with strong collaboration and ownership
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions to solve complex business problems
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, updates, and reports to a range of audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear business language
Risk & Performance Management
  • Identify, assess, and proactively manage risks and issues
  • Monitor delivery progress and agile maturity using relevant metrics
  • Provide regular status updates, highlighting key risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities

What you'll need to succeed

Skills & Experience
Essential Experience
  • Proven experience in Agile roles such as Agile Coach, Scrum Master, Iteration Manager, Release Train Engineer, or Agile Project Manager
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex initiatives in agile environments
  • Strong experience leading and developing high-performing teams
Methodologies & Frameworks
  • Expertise in agile frameworks (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean)
  • Familiarity with DevOps, ITIL, continuous delivery, and design thinking practices
  • Experience applying human-centred design principles
Core Capabilities
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including experience working with senior leaders
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven ability to manage ambiguity, resolve conflict, and drive outcomes in complex environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and laterally
