Accountant needed in Regional Victoria: Mansfield or Alexandra!

Hays Recruitment has partnered with a well-known, highly reputable accounting firm who provide a comprehensive range of Business Advisory and Tax services to individuals, small businesses, and corporate clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a collaborative team that values professional development, flexibility, and client service excellence. This role is open to candidates based in either Mansfield or Alexandra.

Your new role

Depending on skill and/or experience, you will play a key role in delivering a range of high-quality advisory and compliance services to a diverse client base.
Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing accounting data using Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks
  • Setting up accounting software for small businesses
  • Preparing or supporting the senior team with BAS, IAS, FBT
  • Assisting and/or leading the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns
  • Providing strategic tax advice and planning to new and existing client base
  • Researching and interpreting tax legislation and compliance requirements
  • Collaborating with clients and other professionals to deliver integrated solutions
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and improve client outcomes
  • Mentoring junior staff and contributing to team development

What you'll need to succeed

This position is open to candidates with a range of experience levels who are passionate about helping clients and desire to further their careers in tax accounting. Ideally, you will have:

  • A Tertiary Qualification in Accounting, Finance
  • Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax law with a minimum of 2 years+ experience working in public practice
  • Proficiency in MYOB, Xero, and Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with accounting software Sage HandiSoft, Access HandiSoft, and Class Super (desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • A passion for helping clients and working collaboratively
