This role is open to candidates based in either Mansfield or Alexandra.
Your new role
Depending on skill and/or experience, you will play a key role in delivering a range of high-quality advisory and compliance services to a diverse client base.
Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Processing accounting data using Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks
- Setting up accounting software for small businesses
- Preparing or supporting the senior team with BAS, IAS, FBT
- Assisting and/or leading the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns
- Providing strategic tax advice and planning to new and existing client base
- Researching and interpreting tax legislation and compliance requirements
- Collaborating with clients and other professionals to deliver integrated solutions
- Identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and improve client outcomes
- Mentoring junior staff and contributing to team development
What you'll need to succeed This position is open to candidates with a range of experience levels who are passionate about helping clients and desire to further their careers in tax accounting. Ideally, you will have:
- A Tertiary Qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field with a focus on Australian Taxation Law
- Experience in a public practice accounting firm
- Proficiency in MYOB, Xero, and Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with accounting software Sage HandiSoft, Access HandiSoft, and Class Super (desirable but not essential)
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- A passion for helping clients and working collaboratively
- A CPA /CA qualification is desirable but not essential (currently studying will also be considered).
