An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Head of Quality Assurance and Compliance to lead quality, regulatory compliance, governance and continuous improvement initiatives within a well-established higher education and vocational education provider. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the organisation meets its obligations across key regulatory frameworks while driving a culture of quality, accountability and continuous improvement. This position offers the opportunity to influence strategic direction, strengthen governance practices and contribute to positive educational outcomes.

Your new role

As the Head of Quality Assurance and Compliance, you will lead the development, implementation and oversight of quality and compliance frameworks across the organisation. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure regulatory obligations are met while identifying opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness and educational quality.

  • Lead and oversee organisational compliance with relevant higher education and vocational education regulatory frameworks.
  • Manage internal and external audits, reviews and regulatory assessments.
  • Provide expert advice to executive leadership and governance committees on compliance, quality and risk matters.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through benchmarking, quality reviews and best practice recommendations.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting and ensure the timely submission of compliance documentation.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and ensure organisational readiness and alignment.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships across academic, operational and leadership teams to foster a culture of quality and accountability.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong background in quality assurance, governance and regulatory compliance within the Australian education sector.
You will demonstrate:

  • Extensive knowledge of higher education and/or vocational education regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven leadership experience managing quality assurance and compliance functions.
  • Experience leading audits, reviews and continuous improvement programs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills with the ability to work across all levels of an organisation.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting and communication capabilities.
  • Experience with government reporting requirements and education sector regulatory systems.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, with postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.
