Your new role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Heritage Consultant or Heritage Architect with experience working on heritage conservation, adaptive reuse and heritage planning projects. You will join a highly regarded team and play a key role in delivering heritage advice, assessments and conservation outcomes across a diverse range of projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing Heritage Impact Statements, Heritage Assessment Reports and Conservation Management Plans
- Undertaking historical research, site investigations and archival analysis
- Providing heritage advice to clients, architects, planners, government agencies and project teams
- Managing project delivery, stakeholder coordination and client relationships
- Contributing to Heritage NSW applications, peer reviews and due diligence assessments
- Preparing heritage interpretation strategies and conservation recommendations
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve balanced heritage and development outcomes
- Assisting with tender submissions, fee proposals and business development initiatives
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree qualifications in Architecture, Heritage Conservation, Heritage Studies or a related discipline
- 2–5+ years' experience within a heritage consultancy, architectural practice or related heritage-focused environment
- Experience preparing heritage reports and management documentation within the Australian context
- Strong understanding of NSW heritage legislation, planning controls and approval pathways
- Excellent written communication and technical report writing skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Working knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards and construction methodologies
- A collaborative approach combined with the ability to work autonomously when required
Candidates currently working as Heritage Architects looking to transition into a specialist heritage consultancy environment are strongly encouraged to apply. We are also open to speaking to Architects who would be interested in pivoting their skills into a heritage specialist role.
