An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Urban Designer to join a progressive metropolitan council in Sydney. This role offers the chance to lead the design and delivery of transformative public domain, place making, urban renewal and city-building projects that will shape the future of a rapidly growing community.
Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will drive innovative urban design outcomes, influence strategic city planning initiatives and deliver high-quality public spaces that enhance liveability and sustainability.

Your new role

• Lead and deliver urban design and public domain projects from concept through to implementation.
• Manage external consultants, project briefs, contracts and design documentation.
• Provide specialist urban design advice across major projects and infrastructure initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, the community and government agencies to achieve outstanding design outcomes.
• Contribute to place making, sustainability and green infrastructure projects that improve the built environment.
• Represent the organisation in discussions with key government and industry stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed

• Tertiary qualifications in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years' post-graduate experience in urban design or a comparable senior design role.
• Strong experience delivering public domain, urban renewal and city-building projects.
• Proven capability managing multidisciplinary consultant teams and design processes.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, presentation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp (or similar) and Microsoft Office.
