We are currently partnering with a global leader in energy management and automation to recruit a Tendering Engineer to join their expanding Global Services team. This is an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension, and is based in Melbourne with flexible hybrid working arrangements.
Reporting to a global leadership team, this role will see you take ownership of end-to-end tendering and quotation preparation across a diverse portfolio of exciting projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to mission-critical projects within the electrical distribution space, supporting a rapidly growing customer base, while playing a key role in the ongoing energy transition.
Your new role
You will be responsible for:
Review customer RFQs, specifications and tender documentation for field service activities
Identify cost-effective, technically compliant solutions to meet client requirements
Collaborate with both local and international stakeholders on bid development
Engage with customers to leverage technical expertise and shape optimal solutions
Prepare tender submissions including technical compliance, risk assessments and approvals
Develop detailed costings and ensure margin targets are achieved
Produce quotations within agreed timeframes, defining clear technical solutions and mitigating risks
Support ongoing business growth initiatives aligned with company strategy
Manage handover of successful tenders to project execution teams
Participate in occasional domestic travel as required
What you'll need to succeed
Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering (Degree or Diploma)
Demonstrated experience in tendering, bid preparation and quotation development
Strong ability to interpret technical specifications, contract terms and commercial requirements
Experience across LV and MV electrical distribution systems, ideally including installation and testing
Exposure to protection relays, switchgears, transformers, protection relays etc.
Familiarity with major OEM products and service offerings within the electrical space is advantageous.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a collaborative approach
