Your new role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join a well-established, privately owned organisation operating across multiple business units. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting, while supporting operational and strategic decision-making across the business.
- Manage month-end processes including reconciliations, reporting, and variance analysis
- Maintain fixed asset register and ensure accurate depreciation
- Prepare and lodge BAS and assist with tax compliance
- Process intercompany transactions and support financial reporting accuracy
- Assist with year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and annual reporting requirements
- Oversee payroll processing, including statutory obligations and employee support
- Assist with commission calculations and payments
- Manage credit cards
- Authorise payments and support banking and cash flow activities
- Contribute to process improvements and finance projects
- Provide support across finance functions (AP, AR, and reporting) as required
- Handle ad hoc duties and support the CFO as needed
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree qualified in Accounting or Finance
- Experience in a similar role within a commercial environment
- Strong technical accounting capability, particularly in general ledger and reporting
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with multiple ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Xero, payroll systems)
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a “can-do” attitude
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment
