Your new role
As the Permissioning Officer/Applications Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting permission and waste designation assessments across Victoria, with a focus on major infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Team Leader, Permitting, you will:
- Manage and triage incoming applications for permissions and approvals, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations.
- Review applications for completeness and coordinate requests for additional information.
- Facilitate communication with applicants, providing timely updates and managing enquiries.
- Track and monitor major project applications and coordinate regular forums across internal teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a high-performing team culture.
- Support community and stakeholder engagement to build awareness of environmental regulations.
What you'll need to succeed
We are seeking an experienced project officer or project manager with:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Engineering (desirable) and experience in permissions or regulatory environments, preferably within government.
- Strong knowledge of the Environment Protection Act 2017 and associated regulations.
- Proven expertise in project management, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a high-performing team.
- Commitment to organisational values, continuous improvement, and regulatory best practice.
