We are seeking an experienced Cost Controller to manage financial oversight, budgeting, forecasting, and cost governance across operations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SAP Controlling (CO), procurement systems, and contractor cost management within industries such as Oil & Gas, Mining, or heavy industrial manufacturing.

What you'll need to succeed

Required Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP (CO module)
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Fieldglass
  • Working knowledge of Coupa
  • Expert-level skills in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Data Modelling)
Required Competencies (Must-Have)
  • 5+ years of experience in Cost Controlling within Oil & Gas, Mining, or heavy industrial sectors
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and challenge financial data
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

What you'll get in return

Key Responsibilities
Financial Systems & Process Management
  • Act as the primary user of the SAP CO (Controlling) module to monitor cost center performance and internal orders.
  • Manage contractor timesheets and service entries using SAP Fieldglass, ensuring alignment with contractual rates and headcount.
  • Oversee Coupa procurement workflows, ensuring requisitions are accurately coded and budget-compliant prior to approval.
  • Perform regular system reconciliations between SAP, Coupa, and Fieldglass to maintain financial data accuracy.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Conduct monthly Plan vs. Actual variance analysis to identify overspending and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Plant and Maintenance Managers to prepare Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasts.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting based on project schedules, contractor needs, and maintenance activities.
Contractor & Vendor Financial Control
  • Verify and validate contractor invoices against work completion and service records.
  • Ensure compliance with agreed rate cards and Master Service Agreements (MSA).
  • Manage monthly accruals, ensuring accurate financial reporting for work completed but not invoiced.
Reporting & Compliance
  • Deliver insightful weekly and monthly reports highlighting spend trends and operational efficiency (e.g., Wrench Time analysis).
  • Support internal and external audits with relevant documentation and financial data.
  • Maintain accurate cost coding structures, including WBS and cost center hierarchies.
