Your new role

As a People & Culture Advisor, you will play a key role in delivering both strategic and operational HR support across the organisation. This is a varied, hands-on position where you will partner with stakeholders, support the full employee life cycle, and contribute to building an engaging, compliant, and high-performing workplace.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees on policy interpretation, performance management, and employee relations matters
  • Assist with the review, development, and implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including drafting job descriptions, advertising roles, interviewing candidates, and partnering with hiring managers on selection decisions
  • Coordinate onboarding and induction programs for all employees, including graduates and research clerks, ensuring a seamless employee experience
  • Support learning and development initiatives, including maintaining training programs, coordinating learning activities, monitoring training records, and identifying capability gaps with leaders
  • Support remuneration processes including salary benchmarking, reporting, and coordinating changes to employee pay and benefits.
  • Contribute to employee engagement, culture, and wellbeing initiatives, including internal communications, recognition programs, and workplace events
  • Maintain HR systems (ELMO) and employee data, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with relevant regulations
  • Support HR administration across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, probation tracking, and offboarding processes.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in a generalist HR advisory role
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational capability
  • Experience with HRIS systems (ELMO highly regarded)
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
