Your new role
As a Project Support Officer – Climate, you will support the delivery of climate action initiatives focused on carbon reduction and climate adaptation within the Climate Action team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the development and delivery of climate action projects, including carbon reduction and climate adaptation initiatives
- Creating clear, engaging communication materials to support project outcomes and stakeholder awareness
- Engaging with community members and internal staff, providing high-quality customer service and support
- Assisting with a range of project coordination tasks across multiple active initiatives
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to build awareness and drive participation in climate-related actions
- Undertaking research and analysis to inform project development and decision-making
- Planning and coordinating meetings, workshops, and events
What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary qualifications in climate change, environmental management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Demonstrated ability to support a high-performing team across multiple projects and priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality materials and engage effectively with stakeholders
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in local government or sustainability/climate projects (desirable)
