Your new role
As an Early-Stage Project Development Manager, you will play a critical role in originating and securing new renewable energy development opportunities across Australia. With a strong focus on land acquisition, you will lead site identification, landowner engagement, and negotiation of key land agreements to progress projects from concept through to development readiness. You will proactively identify and assess greenfield and acquisition opportunities, conduct site screening, and build strong relationships with landowners, councils, and community stakeholders. You will take ownership of negotiating and securing land access agreements, including leases, options, easements, and other land rights. In addition, you will support early-stage development activities such as feasibility assessments, environmental and planning coordination, stakeholder engagement, and grid connection processes. This is a dynamic, hands-on role that requires regular interstate travel for site visits, stakeholder meetings, and project progression activities.
What you'll need to succeed
- 3 + years’ experience in renewable energy development
- Proven experience engaging with landowners and negotiating land agreements
- Strong understanding of the Australian renewable energy project life cycle, including planning approvals and grid connection processes
- Excellent stakeholder management and commercial negotiation skills
- Ability to identify and assess development opportunities and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, self-driven approach with strong organisational capability
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Planning, Property, Environmental Science, Business, or similar
- Full Australian working rights
- Willingness to travel frequently across regional and interstate locations
