Your new role
An organisation is seeking an experienced Contract Project Manager to lead a major initiative focused on delivering modern payment capabilities across customer‑facing and internal systems. The project will introduce and/or expand payment options such as credit and debit cards, BPAY, Direct Debit, EFT, and PayID, while ensuring robust business process changes and compliance with industry security standards, including PCI DSS.
The role will be responsible for replacing or upgrading existing payment channels and end‑to‑end payment processes. This includes integration with core enterprise platforms such as Salesforce and ERP/finance systems, with a strong focus on secure, compliant payment processing, reconciliation, and transaction visibility for business and finance teams.
This is a client‑side delivery role, accountable for aligning business stakeholders, finance, IT, information security, and vendors to successfully implement approved solutions through systems, processes, and training.
What you'll need to succeed
Knowledge and Skills
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager delivering payment, finance, or enterprise system integration projects in medium to large organisations.
- Demonstrated experience with Salesforce (e.g. Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience/Community, Billing) and integration with payment gateways and finance systems.
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, including security concepts such as authentication, encryption, access control, and monitoring.
- Practical working knowledge of PCI DSS and its application to systems and business processes.
- Proven experience overseeing software development, testing, and production deployments.
- Experience managing vendors and consulting partners delivering payment, finance, or Salesforce solutions, including assessment of compliance and security impacts.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across business, finance, IT, and security.
- Tertiary qualification in Business, IT, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Strong capability in managing end‑to‑end IT and business change projects, including financials, resourcing, risks, and governance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing executive‑level reports and briefings.
- Experience with project and delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, or enterprise project management platforms.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills in time‑critical environments.
- Ability to build collaborative, high‑performing project teams.
- Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgement, flexibility, and decision‑making capability.
