Hays has partnered with a growing commercial construction business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects through a collaborative and values‑driven approach. Due to continued growth, they are expanding their Design team and are seeking a Design Coordinator to support projects across the business.

Your new role

Reporting to the Senior Design Managers, you will be responsible for coordinating the design process across multiple commercial construction projects, from early design and approvals through to construction and post‑completion.

As the Design Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating the design process in line with project briefs, budgets, programmes, and statutory requirements

• Managing consultants, design documentation, and information flow

• Preparing, submitting, tracking, and closing out DA, BA, and authority approvals

• Supporting estimating and tender processes with design input, risk identification, and constructibility advice

• Managing construction documentation and assisting project teams during construction

• Supporting post‑construction activities, including defect resolution and lessons‑learnt reviews

• Monitoring design budgets, consultant fees, and authority costs

What you'll need to succeed

• A degree in Architecture or Construction Management or similar desirable

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial construction

• Strong understanding of the design and construction process in a D&C environment

• Experience managing consultants and authority approvals

• Exposure to financial management and cost planning

• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively

• Display and uphold company values

• Site experience of 3 years in construction desirable
