Your new role
As Operations Manager, you will take ownership of day‑to‑day warehouse and production operations, leading a team of approximately 25 staff, including a treatment plant operator. Reporting to the State Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and well‑organised operations while driving continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading warehouse, storage, production, and dispatch operations
- Managing supervisors and team leaders within a team of ~25 staff
- Supporting and optimising a new ERP system post‑rollout
- Driving process improvement initiatives across workflows and layouts
- Contributing to planning and readiness for future warehouse automation
- Production planning, ideally involving cut sheet production processes
- Managing absenteeism, performance follow‑ups, and attendance procedures
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven operations leadership experience within the timber or building supplies sector
- Strong experience working with ERP systems, with involvement in ERP implementations highly regarded
- Exposure to warehouse automation projects or continuous improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated success in driving process improvement and operational efficiency
- Proven people leadership capability, fostering a high performance and accountable team culture
- Experience leading and developing teams of 20+ staff, including supervisors
- A personable, approachable leadership style supported by clear, confident communication skills
