Your new company
Gunggandji Aerospace is an Aboriginal-owned, DISP‑accredited aerospace and defence consultancy with national reach. Working across project management, workforce development and strategic advisory, the organisation supports Australia’s sovereign capability across defence, aerospace and space sectors. As a certified B Corporation and Supply Nation member, Gunggandji Aerospace is committed to creating meaningful pathways for First Nations Australians into high‑value industries.
Your new role
As Marketing and Communications Director, you will play a critical senior leadership role, reporting directly to the Managing Director. You will be responsible for translating a long-term brand strategy into disciplined, high-impact execution across all channels.
This is a highly strategic role, focused on brand governance, narrative control and communications leadership rather than campaign-based marketing. You will own the organisation’s brand and communications ecosystem, ensuring every external touchpoint reinforces Gunggandji Aerospace’s position as a trusted sovereign capability partner.
Key responsibilities include:
Owning and executing the Brand Strategy across all communications and digital channels
Leading content strategy, development and quality assurance across corporate, media and digital platforms
Managing the organisation’s website, LinkedIn presence and brand asset library
Overseeing agency and contractor relationships to ensure brand compliance
Supporting government relations, stakeholder communications and thought leadership
Providing brand intelligence, performance reporting and brand health insights

Experience managing content end-to-end, from strategy through to performance reporting
Strong digital capability across LinkedIn, websites and analytics
Confidence operating autonomously in a small, senior team environment
Alignment with the values and purpose of an Aboriginal-owned social enterprise
Experience in defence, government, aerospace or infrastructure sectors, and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, will be highly regarded.
What you'll get in return
You will join a purpose-led organisation operating at the intersection of sovereign capability, defence and social impact. This role offers:
A senior leadership position with direct influence on organisational strategy
Flexible and hybrid working arrangements
The opportunity to shape a nationally significant brand with long-term impact
